VITARGAN is a group of argan oil cooperatives, representing more than 450 women. Based in Essaouira, southwestern Morocco, its main purpose is to improve the socioeconomic conditions of its members.

Created in 2005, Vitargan brings together women’s cooperatives that combine traditional knowledge with modern extraction techniques to produce cosmetics and food oil of premium quality certified organic. Within the PAMPAT project, Vitargan Consortium attended the Salone del Gusto- Terra Madre, an event organized in Turin, Italy by the Slow Food network, from the 22nd to 26th September 2016.

This prospecting mission was an opportunity for Vitargan members to meet Italian consumers and potential buyers and promote its 100% natural and certified “Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)” products.
